  • Brooklyn born Rabbi Danny Cohen moved to Israel with his parents when he was six years old.  Serving in the Israeli army, the Rabbi made the rank of sergeant in a combat unit. Following his army service, Rabbi Cohen together with his wife Batsheva, moved to Kiryat Arba where they worked to promote and protect the Jewish  community in Hebron.

Today, Rabbi Cohen serves as the Chabad emmisary in Hevron  where f ewer than 1,000 Jewish residents are surrounded by some 200,000 Arabs. Despite the ever present dangers, the Rabbi is warm, caring and always wearing a smile.  With nearly 1,500 security personnel in the vicinity of Hebron, Rabbi and Rebbitzin Cohen host Shabbat meals and Jewish Holiday events and often take on the role of parents to the young men & women serving in Hevron. Still serving as a reservist in a combat unit himself, Rabbi Cohen has a unique bond with these soldiers and dedicates himself to infuse them with enough Yiddishikiet and love to last a lifetime.
