Thousands came to Universal Studios CityWalk to join Chabad of the Valley's annual celebration which has become Southern California's largest Chanukah event.

Dovid Efune, the editor in chief of the Algemeiner, led an open dialogue on how to combat the anti Israel bias of the mainstream media.

An inspiring Farbrengen was held on Monday evening June 29th in honor of Yud Beis Tammuz - The day of Liberation from Soviet prison of the Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Schneerson.

Hundreds of people from all walks of life gathered at Chabad of the Valley Headquarters in Tarzana on Thursday evening, to observe the 21st Yahrzeit of the Rebbe. Dr. Ira Weiss - The Rebbe's cardiologist was the keynote speaker.

The Farbrengen was once again generously sponsored by Gary and Rochelle Finder and Family.

Chabad of the Valley in California held its Annual Banquet-Gala marking 70 years since the liberation from Nazi Germany with a moving and powerful keynote address by philanthropist Mr. Sol Teichman

Chabad and The Menachem Institute hosted a truly powerful lecture with a fantastic open dialogue about sensitive yet important topics such as infertility, high risk pregnancy, abortion and birth control. It was quite infomative and enlightening as well as entertaining. Thank you so much to our panel of experts; Dr. Michael Feinman, Dr. Roy Mansano and Rabbi Yossi Shusterman.

Chabad of the Valley's Chanukah at CityWalk once again lived up to its reputation, having been acknowledged as one of the largest Chanukah events.
This year, thousands flocked to the plaza at Universal Studios CityWalk for the annual event which for many has become the highlight of Chanukah.
"From a dream hatched 13 years ago, it has become a mega-event," said Rabbi Yossi Baitelman, of Chabad of Studio City, crediting the talented production team for crystalizing those dreams
This year's show included an international all-star line-up of entertainment, including Shloime Gertner from London, Choni G from South Africa, Shlomo Simcha from Toronto and New York's Eli Schwebel.

On Sunday evening, September 14, the community gathered at Bocca Steakhouse in Encino, to support the scholarship programs of Chabad-Gan Israel. The event featured the singing sensation Eli Buzaglo and a masterful performance by Illusionist David Minkin, as well as a comedic performance by Mario Joyner. The event was the culmination of a campaign to help raise much needed funds for scholarship assistance to the many beneficiaries of The Finder Family Camp Gan Israel, The Ryzman Family Hebrew School as well as the Rabbi Moshe and Ruty Weiss Early Childhood Center and others.

On Thursday, July 24, Chabad of the Valley held a special evening of prayer for Israel.
We were joined by many dignitaries and community leaders. Deputy Consul General Danny Gadot recited Tehillim, chapter 20 and additional speakers included Assemblyman Matt Dababneh and LAPD Sgt. Frank Avila. Dr. Scharf, who has a son on active duty in Israel right now, also made some brief remarks.
The highlight came when several friends of Max Steinberg came up to light a candle in honor of Max and also in honor of all the fallen soldiers of Israel. His good friend, Max Snyder, spoke movingly about their friendship.

This past Tuesday evening, some 1,000 people from all walks of life gathered at Chabad of the Valley Headquarters in Tarzana for a beautiful Farbrengen in honor of the 20th Yahrtziet – Hilulah of the Rebbe.

People listened intently and spellbound as Rabbi Miller, who recently wrote a biography of the Rebbe, entitled Turning Judaism Outward, regaled the audience with stories, lessons and anecdotes about the Rebbe and his leadership of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. A full dinner was served.

The Farbrengen was once again generously sponsored by Gary and Rochelle Finder and Family and the Finder Family Educational Center.

On Wednesday, June 11, Chabad of the Valley celebrated its Banquet-Gala 2014 a celebration of Reaching for Yet Greater Heights.

The event included the hilarious, warm words of Levi Pekler, the beautiful video showcasing the phenomenal growth Chabad of the Valley, the inspirational and heartfelt tribute to Gladys Husanu, recognition of her 35 years of service on behalf of Chabad of the Valley; the rousing auction by Sean Kelly, and much more.

The highlight of the evening was of course the brilliant and inspiring words of Ben Shapiro! Surely, this was an evening that will be remembered for a long time to come.

On the eve of Lag B’Omer, Chabad of Tarzana organized a magnificent Melaveh Malka barbecue. Some 250 people joined the event which was held at the home of dear friends and supporters, Scott and Debbie Mendler. The hospitality, warmth and ambience of the beautiful surroundings created a most electrifying evening described by many to be simply "the best".

In addition to a Chassidic DJ, festive dancing around the bonfire, Rabbi Mordechai Einbinder offered words of inspiration and shared a timely message of The Rebbe, Nassi Doreinu.

On Lag B'Omer, The Ryzman Family Hebrew School had its annual Lag B’omer parade. This year we took it to new heights with a police and fire escorts, closing off Burbank boulevard. It was an amazing day of Jewish pride. The children got to ride in the police car and also were able to sit on the “floats”. It culminated with a barbecue and a show by the amazing Chris.

A special thanks to Yossi and Sarah Jacobs who were the pioneers of this parade.

On Sunday, May 18, 2014, Chabad of the Valley had a booth by the Israeli Festival at Rancho Park. It was an amazing event with thousands of Jews from all different backgrounds, all celebrating Lag B’omer together. At our booth, we put on tefillin with hundreds of people.

In the spirit of The Megillah, the Jews of the valley experienced “Light, Joy, Gladness and Splendor.” At Chabad of the Valley headquarters, Chabad of Tarzana hosted an amazing Saturday night Purim concert with Pini Cohen electrifying an audience of close to 1000 men, women and children.

The glow of attachment uniting many various sectors of the greater community was infectious and contagious. The large synagogue and social hall of Chabad of Tarzana was set up like an amphitheater accommodating the masses. Refreshments, graggers, raffle, music and dancing, an amazing juggler and the reading of the Megillah throughout the night created a wondrous atmosphere and an unforgettable experi

some 100 people gathered at The Menachem Institute in Tarzana to hear a riveting, inspiring and thought-proving talk by Mrs. Devorie Krieman titled The Courage of Faith - The Power of Hope: Finding strength and meaning in seemingly insurmountable hardship.

Mrs. Kreiman shared her personal journey towards discovering strength and joy in the face of anguish and pain. The extraordinary challenges and losses she has faced, inspires us to overcome the impossible. That we can stand up and live our lives in the face of helplessness and deep sadness.

Her personal journey has led her to develop a “user friendly” understanding of the Torah approach to human resilience and growth.
