The Ryzman Family Chabad Hebrew School went on an exciting trip to the Staples Center to watch the Los Angeles Clippers take on the Macabi Tel Aviv team.

Chabad of Tarzana, North Hollywood, Encino and Camp Gan Israel went on an exciting Sukkos outing to Scooters Jungle. The day started with Davening, Shaking the Lulav and breakfast in the Sukkah. The kids then had an amazing time sliding, jumping and climbing and of course enjoyed lunch in the Sukkah Mobile which came along for the ride.

Kaparot is a custom carried out before Yom Kippur. It is observed by both men and women. Each man takes a live rooster, and each woman takes a hen. Preferably the chicken should be white.
Various selections are recited from Psalms and from the Book of Job. Prayers are also recited. The chicken is moved in a circular motion around the head three times.
The custom is that the chicken is slaughtered and then given to the poor.

Chabad of the Valley celebrated the culmination of its raffle campaign benefiting the Chabad’s - Gan Israel scholarship fund, at the exclusive Braemar Country Club.
The evening was indeed enjoyable and entertaining, with an authentic Glatt Kosher barbeque dinner. The event featured a live performance by “The Father of Jewish Rock” Avraham Rosenblum & the Diaspora, and surprise guest Hollywood Comedian Steve Mittleman.

Government offices on America’s East and West Coasts welcomed leaders of the Jewish community last week in nearly back-to-back declarations of support of Chabad-Lubavitch activities.
The legislative activities began in Sacramento on March 23, where the California State Senate, citing the state’s more than 200 Chabad Houses as “the largest network of educational and social services on the West Coast,” declared that Monday to be Chabad Day.

Chabad of the Valley’s beautiful Melava Malka featuring music, as well as a video of the Rebbe, was attended by individuals from some 10 different Chabad centers throughout the Valley. It was a true Hakhel event of the highest magnitude. In addition to the guest speaker Rabbi YY Jacobson, the event was addressed by Rabbi Yehoshua B. Gordon and Rabbi Mordechai Einbinder.
The Chabad of the Valley Girls NY Trip 09 included a visit to the Rebbe’s room and the Ohel, davening Shacharis at the Jewish Children’s Museum. The inspiring journey that is the purpose of this yearly event was certainly fulfilled.
